Obama: I Am A Huge Clint Eastwood Fan

He likes Clint's work as an actor, even more so as a director.

But how about the piece of work the Oscar winner turned into at the Republican convention the other night, weirdly conversing with a chair to while trying to score points about the President's supposedly inept leadership.

That was an excellent way to handle this.

Coming out swinging against an American legend--especially one who made such a poignant fool of himself the other night--would seem ungentlemanly and utterly distracting from the real issues.

This way, Obama lets the Republican's mistake fester by itself, with everyone else in the world crying "foul," as he stands back and looks dignified and unharmed.

But the best news of all is that the Dems aren't planning any such shtick at their own convention coming up.

"I think we'll be playing this straight," assured Obama.

Oh, good.

No Streisand talking to a dog strapped to the hood of a car?
