Steve Jobs Downplayed His Cancer
The mega-businessman and innovator was desperate to act like it didn't exist or was easily manageable.
According to this piece, Jobs brazenly refused surgery when he was diagnosed with cancer in 2004.
Unconventional to the end, he decided to battle the disease through diet.
Furthermore, after he did finally have the surgery, Jobs tried to convince the world he was cured, even when the cancer had spread to his liver.
Sounds like Jobs faced this horrid challenge with a mixture of denial and zany chutzpah, feeling he could simply wrestle it on his own terms.
Sadly, Jobs had finally met an opponent he couldn't beat.
