The Wal-Mart Factor

It seemed like every fourth truck on I-90 on the way from Cleveland to Chicago was a Wal-mart truck.

Re-read this earlier post, on the Democrat who told the world on election day that Wal-Mart is the answer to Japan's every economic woe.

Then set the wayback machine to one year ago, when I reported that when all kinds of heartland Americans are asked about what the hell is going wrong with America, "Wal-mart" is one of the first words that issues forth.

Dig this, on the biggest sex discrimination suit in American history, against Wal-Mart, and remember that if single women, who lean heavily Democratic, had voted at the same rate as married ones, there would have been 6 million more voters in 2000—200,000 in Florida alone.

And don't forget this golden oldie!

And hey! 80 percent of the $1.5 billion in contributions from Wal-Mart's PAC, the second biggest in corporate America, went to Republicans!!

I'll say this only once (okay, I'll probably say it more than once): Hillary Clinton should not be able to get within spitting distance of a Democratic nomination for higher office until she explains, if not apologizes for, her service on Wal-Mart's board of directors.

The way forward for the Democrats is first an absolute retreat from the shilling for the most heartless corporation in America, one that's run by Evangelical Christians for Evangelical Christians, who censor the only popular culture that millions of young Americans have easy access to purchasing.
