Trannies, Drag Queens, and Hermaphs at the Tribeca Fest!
The ninth annual Tribeca Film Festival starts Wednesday, and though the opening feature is the pretty mainstream Shrek Forever After, a lot of the rest of the lineup is "edgy" and quirky and plays with gender as much as most film critics tend to play with themselves.
There's Ticked-off Trannies With Knives, which has ticked off GLAAD.
Also Spork about a dancing hermaphrodite.
Let's not forget Elvis & Madona, described thusly: "Elvis is a talented photographer and lesbian. Madona is a ravishing blonde drag performer. Their lives will increasingly intertwine..."
And flipping through the catalogue, I'm finding even more offbeat entries.
In fact, watch out Elvis & Madona because here comes Monica & David:
"Monica and David are in love. They also happen to have Down syndrome."
Love it! Thank you, Tribeca!
