Why Is Ashley Dupre So Apologetic?
Ashley Dupre, the singing whore who got off (and brought down) Eliot Spitzer, spoke out on her GlobalGrind.com blog last week, and if I had a buck for every time she used the word "mistake," I could quit my own whoring lifestyle and move to a mansion in the Caribbean.
Blogged Dupre, "I am now 23 years old and I've made more mistakes than most people make in a lifetime...I am proud of myself for going through each phase of my life and wanting to take that next step, even if it was the wrong step...I am imperfect. And that is okay....I hope that from my story, I can help someone and save them from making the same mistakes and choices that I made...I hope that someday I can gain the respect of people for who I am rather than being defined only by the mistakes I've made."
Enough, girl! Stop with the fucking humility and repeated admissions of wrongdoing! Wouldn't it have been great if you could have stepped up to the bedpost and said something truthful? Like: "What is wrong with what I did? Prostitution should be legalized! It's an honest business transaction between two consenting adults. If anything, Spitzer's interest in 'hos shows the absurdity of the anti-prostitution campaigns of hypocrites like him. I'm not ashamed of my choices and I hope others will follow them, though I wish them better luck with the law."
Oh, well. I can dream, can't I?
