You Know I'll Always Lebne
Sunnyside isn't just good for Irish breakfast, or donuts (see below), or White Castle. At a Middle Eastern grocery/bakery called El Shater Corp., I discovered a really special treat—homemade lebne, soft, spread-able cheese made from yogurt. At El Shater, the cheese is formed into small rounds, which look not unlike bocconcini (little mozzarella balls), but they are soft and tangy. A tip: when you get home, pour out the oil and replace it with extra virgin.
El Shater Corp. 43-02 43rd Ave, at 43rd street Sunnyside (7 train to 40th) (718) 392-2702
