You know you're in a battleground state when...
...you actually get to SEE the Swiftboat Veterans ad on TV. For the rest of us, the "negative campaigning" is usually seen only in a report by CNN. But in Duval County, Bill Clinton can be heard on black radio stumping for Kerry every five minutes.
Beyond the actual ads, televangelism is a constant presence on TV, and the men of the cloth have not been shy about urging the Christian voting bloc to the polls. This morning I watched a sermon by Pastor Rod Parsely, who worked himself into a frenzy, using all the right catchwords (ACLU, Planned Parenthood, etc.). Below the pastor a banner rammed his message home--"Vote: Exercise Your Right As An American. Exercise Your Right As A Christian."
