  • Madison Square Park

    Madison Square Park

5th Ave. At 23rd St. New York, NY 10021
212-538-1884 Madison Square Park was established in 1870, but had to be restored in the late 1990s, as did everything in the city. Besides the lovely buildings that surround it, such as the New York Life and Met Life Buildings, this park is where the arm of the Statue of Liberty sat for 10 years before the money was finally raised to erect her. Always make it a point to wander through, because you might see some interesting art installation. More >>

  • Manhattan Bridge

Between Manhattan and Brooklyn New York, NY 10002 Overlooked and underappreciated, the beautiful blue Manhattan Bridge connects Chinatown with Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. True, the bridge may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the Brooklyn Bridge, but certainly it is gaining a new appreciation as new generations of hipsters invade DUMBO and ride their bikes across the overpass on a daily basis. The bridge's nickel-steel construction seems to fit perfectly with the retro, thrift store '80s look. Pedestrian entrances: Manhattan: Bowery & Catherine Brooklyn: Flatbush Ave & Jay St More >>

    410 W. 123rd St. New York, NY 10025
212-201-7275 Despite the absence of a pool and actual gym area, Morningside Park Center does have a few basketball and handball courts as well as a baseball field. There is also a multipurpose room, which can be used as the name suggests. Morningside Park also offers a wide range of after-school care programs for young kids through to teenagers. More >>

    210 E. 164th St. Bronx, NY 10452
