http://www.phatfarm.com Itas seemingly endless, the stream of hip hop moguls busting out their own clothing label after Simmons started Phat Farm: Eve, 50 Cent, Wu Tang Clana|Puff Daddy himself seems to have ripped Simmonas business plan off word for word (sorry, aused it for inspirationa). But despite all the competition, this 12-year-old line heavy on the oversize plaid button downs and baggy jeans seem to be still faring well, buoyed by the sales of Baby Phat, wife Kimoraas branch of shrunken tees, hoodies, and mini shoulder bags for the ladies. But like many of the other vintage shops on this East Village stretch to Avenues A and B, the good stuff is easy to find and in decent condition: a50s-style button downs for the men, fun a60s and a70s summer frocks, and a quality selection of leather jackets for all. http://www.piecesofbklyn.com Here's a deceptively-named little boutique: it might just be pieces, but the pieces are pretty great. There's a well-chosen selection for men and women, both from names familiar and entirely unknown, but you can trust the store's incredibly chic owner; if she's chosen it, chances are you'll love it. http://www.piemonteravioli.com Of all the Little Italy food stores, Piemonte Ravioli Co. feels the most like neighborhood food shopping in Italy. Thereas no perceivable tourist-motivated decorating going on here. It is small, with a very old tile floor (the shop has been there since 1920), simple shelving, and a counter with tons of fresh, house-made pasta behind it in plastic to-go containers. The list of shapes and fillings is longer than this listing, but some specialties are ravioli (cheese and meat), other stuffed pasta like manicotti, tortellini, and stuffed shells, and liguine allauovo. They use no preservatives, so ideally these pastas should be purchased the day you plan to eat them. Freeze them if you are not going to make them within two days. More >>

The perfect spot to buy a last-minute housewarming gift for your professional friends who bought one of those higher-priced apartments popping up around Williamsburg. The store smells fantastic and fresh because of the scented candles and handmade soaps. The festive space also holds wooden cutting boards, glass coffee presses, and metal fondue sets among classy knick-knacks. Most people deserve a little bit of luxury, after all. More >>
http://www.pinisibakerynyc.com You can spot this little family-owned bakery by the cheery window display, a large window with mismatched letters and stacks of baked goods next to word "CUPCAKES" spray-painted in rainbow colors. Inside, the whole bakery is essentially taken up by glass display counters, with barely enough room for the couple of stools that are in there. Funky artwork occupies the walls while books line small shelves, with a chalkboard high above listing different coffee drinks. All of the baked goods here are certified kosher, with several vegan, sugar-free and gluten-free products available as well. Sweets include cupcakes made with things like toasted pistachios and lavender, as well as whole cakes in flavors like red velvet and carrot cake. Don't have much of a sweet tooth? Pinisi also bakes savory treats like gruyere scones and biscuits. The bakery can also create custom cakes for special events like birthdays and weddings.—Keith Wagstaff More >>

http://www.pippinvintage.com This store is a godsend to those of us who love to accessorize but don't necessarily have the loot to commit to fancy jewels. They also do trades and consignment, so if Granny's lovely hand-me-downs are not exactly your style, bring 'em on in. She'd want you to have that charm bracelet . . . More >>

http://www.thepleasurechest.com Not every ex deserves a parting gift, only the ones who bring out your cruelty and creativity in equal measure (and who are likely candidates for ex sex). An Apollo Penis Pump Kit, from the Pleasure Chest, trumpets "Be the Big Man You Always Wanted to Be!"ayou know he's gonna try it just once. For girls, a bit more subtlety is required: perhaps a few pairs of crotchless panties, size XXL, with the tags cut off and "returned" to her in mixed company. More >>
http://www.plumstyle.com Owners Jackie Atkins and Jeannie Goldman left jobs as a wardrobe stylist and at Stella McCartney, respectively, to open Plum. In November, their dream was realized: emerging, independent, and hard-to-find designers from all over the country collected in a non-pretentious setting. A lot of shoppers have dreamed of this, too. The store is sectioned by designer, which is unusual for a small shop, but extremely logical, especially since they carry whole collections. Designersa names are displayed on plaques above each collection, which fits the Victorian-feeling, tin-ceilinged space well. By aPluma, these women mean athe besta (customized bags and denim are available) but clothing prices only occasionally surpass the $250 mark, and are usually well below (jewelry is around $40-$100).
