Any chance to see Tony winner Jefferson Mays (I Am My Own Wife, Gore Vidal’s The Best Man) on the boards is not to be missed, but his role in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder should be a treat eight times over. In this story, gentleman Monty (played by Bryce Pinkham) has learned he belongs to a noble family and could become the next Earl of Highhurst, except for one big problem: There are eight relatives ahead of him in line for the title. Mays plays all of the heirs as they meet their untimely deaths. Darko Tresnjak directs Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak’s musical comedy.
