Nick Offerman: Good Clean Fun

Nick Offerman: Good Clean Fun

Emily Shur Nick Offerman

It's easy to conflate Nick Offerman with his hirsute, no-nonsense Parks and Recreation character, Ron Swanson. Now, the actor, comedian, musician, woodworker, and author is blurring the line between life and art just a little more with his book Good Clean Fun. This isn't Offerman's first time at the literary rodeo — he also penned Gumption and Paddle Your Own Canoe — but his latest book offers exactly the sort of things you'd like if you spent an afternoon with Swanson: stories, life advice, easy-to-follow woodworking how-tos. (Offerman, a longtime woodworking enthusiast, has been covered in sawdust since before he went to theater school.) Join the author for the official launch of Good Clean Fun at Williamsburg's Artists & Fleas, home to some of Brooklyn's craftiest artisans. Afterward, Offerman will sign books and guests will get the chance to wander around the market to pick up inspiration. And when you start your own Good Clean Fun projects, remember the legendary Swanson's advice: "Never half-ass two things. Whole-ass one thing."
