Where else would the world's largest sake celebration outside of Japan take place other than New York City? With over four hundred interpretations of the drink available to sample — including winners from the Honolulu-hosted National Sake Appraisal and 240 labels not otherwise available stateside — the Joy of Sake celebrates both the ancient craft of sake brewing and what's happening in sake production today. Traditional freshly brewed sake, as well as aged and sparkling varietals, are on offer, along with some of the city's best sushi and izakaya eats from restaurants including 15 East, O Ya, and Sushi Nakazawa. Plus, in keeping with the city's hottest raw trend, poke-bar samplings from Noreetuh and SakaMai will be on hand to help absorb the potent stuff.
