If you're lucky enough to lunch with Toni Morrison, you might hatch a good idea, too. Some ten years ago, photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders and the Nobel laureate thought up The Black List, Greenfield-Sanders's photo series of notable African Americans that would become a book and later a movie. Fast-forward and the visual listicles kept coming: The Latino List, The Boomer List, The Out List, and The Women's List. Fifty portraits from the latter series, now on view at Long Island City's Fisher-Landau Center for Art, document the ladies we wish we could be — from savvy Spanx inventor Sara Blakely to the quite possibly future Mme President, HRC. Isn't today Take Our Daughters to Galleries Day?
