Todd Barry: Thank You for Coming to Hattiesburg

Yes, life on the road is as glamorous as it seems — or so Todd Barry's book about touring the oft-overlooked secondary-market scene (think Ithaca, Maui) will try and convince you, one sarcastic page after another. The seasoned, New York–based comic's new tome, Thank You for Coming to Hattiesburg, takes readers on a journey through the stand-up circuit in smaller- town America. ("See how I react when Lars from Metallica shows up to see me at a rec center in Northern California," is among the tales Barry teases.) To celebrate the book'ss March 14 release, Barry — a lauded live performer and actor known for his work on shows such as Louie — will be joined by Janeane Garofalo, John Hodgman, Joel Kim Booster, and Sam Morril. Expect lots of laughs and self-deprecation, as well as an additional appearance from a "special famous guest."
