The Real Johny Debt : Celebrities with Massive debt problems-Infographic

While most of us dream of becoming celebrities – writing books, playing a major league sport, or becoming a rock concert god (or goddess) – most of us will never do more than just that. Dream. That's why it hurts so bad to see those who have actually gone on to become successful, our idols and role models, simply piss away the money they've made. Realistically speaking, it should be nearly impossible for someone who earns millions in a year to leave beyond his or her means, but it happens all the time.

Let's start with famous rapper MC Hammer. Remember him? At the high of his career he had a net worth of $49 million, but he now owes more than $13 million to debtors. Why does he owe so much money, you ask? For no good reason, unless you think a mansion worth $12 million staffed by no less than 200 employees isn't a bit over the top.

Remember the actor, Chris Tucker? He currently owes $11 million. Why? He simply hasn't paid his tax debts to the IRS. Why he didn't simply have his accountant take his taxes out of his royalty and fee payments before spending his cash, we'll never understand.

Another one you'll love? Courtney Love, of course. She owes just over $466,000 to a law firm for “legal matters” - all of which occurred in the same 10 month time span. We think it's time for her to simmer down a bit, pay her bills, and ride off into the sunset.

These aren't the only celebrities with issues, of course. And while I'll always feel a little bit guilty about putting my fast food lunch on a credit card on that last off day before my paycheck comes in, I'm sort of glad I'm not in the position to “forget” to pay millions in taxes or debt. Pass the checkbook, please.
