Abyssinian Baptist Church

132 W. 138th St.
New York, NY 10030
Best Of
The ABC congregation dates back to 1808, but the current building was not erected until 1923. The other homes for ABC were on Worth St, in the Five Points and on Waverly, in the West Village. The congregation itself has a long history, having had both Adam Clayton Powell Sr. and Jr. as its senior ministers. It is worth a look, especially if you already happen to be down the road at Sylviaas Soul Food. Hours: Sunday services only, 9 & 11am
