In the days of $30+ entrees, it's refreshing to find a tastefully appointed restaurant that still serves plates at the $16 mark. True, the food at Alma 33, a new Argentinean restaurant near NYU, isn't terribly exciting or as well-executed as at other joints in the neighborhood, but hey, at least the drinks are cheap ($6 glasses of Cava!) and the service is friendly. Tapas highlights include beef skewers with chimichurri, meatball-stuffed peppers, and deep-fried sweetbreads, while larger plates include grilled steaks and a Milanesa cutlet. Still, your best bet is to grab some drinks and maybe a bite or two.
