Jorge Munoz created An Angel in Queens in 2006 to combat a hunger problem in the borrough by providing hot meals to homeless and unemployed residents. Stationed under the shadow of the el, where immigrant laborers gather after 10-hour-plus work days, Munoz and family serve home-cooked food and supplies mostly every night out of their white pick-up. Interested parties can donate directly to the foundation online or at P.O. Box 210054, Woodhaven, NY, 11421. See website for info on how to donate much-needed shoes and clothing items as well.
