For a look at how the other half lives-the wealthy half, that is-check out this off-price offshoot of Masa. While the parent's prix fixe starts at an astonishing $300 per person, at Bar Masa you can enjoy the same quality seafood and the same "jazzy sushi"-rice pressed into a box with oddball toppings like mozzarella, prosciutto, and shiso leaves-for about one-fifth the tab. The lobster risotto is our favorite entrée, containing massive quantities of truffle and crustacean; memorable bowls of soba or udon are even cheaper, in an interior that resembles an Egyptian tomb.
