Can't get into Nobu? Try this great alternative, owned by the folks who brought you Republic and Indochine. The tray of teeny-weeny sushi is a delight, as is the avocado roll mantled with eel and nut-dusted. Among sushi, only the arugula-and-potato-stick maki fell flat. Other menu standouts include crab soup loaded with crabby flavor, lobster tempura, and a four-chop rack of lamb offered with a sweet sauce featuring caramelized pears. Wash it all down with cold sake from the extensive list, and don't miss the killer chocolate fondue, with a broad-ranging collection of fruits and cakes for dipping.
