This restaurant located in the basement of the Hotel Giraffe in the Flatiron District feels somewhat like an Olive Garden (no windows and overly bright artificial light can do that), but thankfully, the food is several notches above that chain's. Creamy whipped ricotta or the frito misto platter are good appetizer options, while mains include the standard pizza-pasta-grilled meat offerings. The food isn't quite exciting enough to make it stand out in the pack of the city's finer Italian eateries, but a very good and inexpensively priced wine list might just turn this spot into a neighborhood hangout.
