It calls itself a Cuban-Italian restaurant, although don't expect any kind of fancy fusion fare. Cuban-Italian refers to the fact that the menu has both Cuban and Italian sections, which are prepared by two different chefs. For example, you can order shrimp ceviche and churrasco one night and bruschetta and chicken marsala another. Both menus don't really veer away from tried-and-true classics of their respective cuisines. The brick oven turns out margherita pizzas, with additional toppings available for an extra charge. Even the drink menu is split between Cuba and Italy. On one side, a long list of mostly Italian wines. On the other, mojitos, available in flavors like mango, raspberry, coconut and more. Rustic wooden tables, a gargantuan oil painting and an abundance of candles give the whole place an old-school vibe with hints of both the restaurant's adopted countries. If the weather is nice, take a seat on the outdoor sidewalk patio, which has great views of bustling 2nd Avenue.—Keith Wagstaff
