This tiny but comfy place aims to be the kind of New England lunchroom that attracts a loyal and local following, and it may just succeed. We're not huge fans of the kind of vegetarian cuisine that depends on fake meat substitutes, but some of those provided at Curly's;the "meat" loaf or the weirdly delicious fake bacon;are intriguing on their own. More importantly, this strictly vegetarian and partly vegan diner offers plenty of distinguished non-meat cookery, including a pungent main-dish of cashews and sofrito and a version of chilaquiles that, while not quite Mexican, is definitely good.
