Dim sum has made a spectacular comeback in the city, and East Harbor is in the forefront. The dining room is the size of a football field, and every day from morning till around 1:30 in the afternoon, carts propel around the room steered by their smartly uniformed attendants. From around 30 varieties, you should start with the shrimp sio mai, gnurled little dumplings with the thinnest possible rice-noodle covering, barely concealing the two huge shrimp inside. For kids, the sautéed radish cake is a must, and for adventuresome eaters, the braised chicken feet slough off their thick skin in a way that makes them much easier to eat. Don't forget to finish your dim sum feast with a plate of noodles, for good luck.
