Forget faux-vintage; this place is a real relic, a neighborhood stalwart that has stood on Greenwich Street since 1927. Not much has changed. The restaurant is still full of sturdy wooden booths and large colorful murals of flamenco dancers. Most of the menu items like the hearty seafood paella, lobster in white sauce, broiled sirloin steak and veal in almond sauce wouldn¹t look out of place 80 years ago. There is also a menu of traditional Spanish tapas including shrimp in a garlic sauce and broiled chorizo sausage. Nab a stool at the old rickety wooden bar and order a pitcher of red or white sangria, or try one of the Spanish wines by the glass or bottle. Not everything is old; during Champions League soccer games, futbol fans can come in watch their favorite Spanish team duke it out on the flat-screen TV.—Keith Wagstaff
