This year El Olomega drove off with the coveted Vendy Award for best food truck in NYC. They couldn't deserve it more. The Lainez family fries up "The Original Red Hook Salvadoran Papusa," a corn flour tortilla stuffed with various meats and cheeses, sour cream and a serving of fushcia marinated onions on the side. For 20 years they have been serving hungry players, spectators, and families at the lively Red Hook soccer fields, and even though the street has now accrued a caravan of vendors, El Olomega is still the culinary stand-out.
