On the northern edge of Sunset Park's Chinatown, right next door to the city's largest Turkish grocery, stands Elite, a Turkish tea house trying very hard to be a full-blown restaurant. That means not everything on the menu is always available: On our evening visit, the doner kebab, all the menu's seafood, and flatbread pizzas called pide, had gone AWOL. What remains, however, is impressive: an adana kebab made of coarsely chopped lamb laced with sweet red peppers and onions, bread dips of humus and cacik (yogurt and cucumber), and a quartet of perfectly grilled lamb chops served with rice and salad, a steal at around $12.50.
