Ft. Tryon Park

524 Fort Washington Ave.
New York, NY 10033
It was during a battle here that Margaret Corbin took her husband's place in battle after he was killed. Thatas some chutzpah even the hardest Bronx chick would be pressed to compete with. She too was severely wounded, and so the South Plaza entrance is named after her. The Fort still stands and there are great views from the lookout. Given to the city by John D. Rockefeller, the park was originally part of a huge estate.
