Gomi nyc

443 E. 6th St.
New York, NY 10009
In the beginning, Gomi carried striclty recycled products, like bowls made from vinyl records and stuffed animals made from old (but spotless) sweaters. Now, it has allowed for some vintage, and even new items, as long as they are sustainable, like bamboo bowls. But don't assume that you have to be a hippie to appreciate this shop. Everywhere your eyes rest in this little store, there is something you must have or must give someone else. Partners Tina Carr and Anne Hettinger both make jewelry, and Hettinger's handbags and purses are so cute, you'd never know they were environmentally sound.
