It looks like a convenience store, but one side of the shop is dedicated to a small kitchen where two cooks whip up tortas, tacos, huaraches and other snacks. There are 20 varieties of madly overstuffed tortas, including the Cubana, which is filled with cecina, ham, cheese and hot dogs (several). As for the huaraches, Guerrero's version is on a fresh, puffy, griddle-marked masa base, which is slathered with green tomatillo salsa, showered with your choice of meat, and then topped with white onion, Cotija cheese, crema and a vast quantity of cilantro. The sharp, verdant salsa and the copious cilantro lend the whole thing an assertive, fresh zestiness. Weekend specials include pozole and barbacoa. As you might expect, everything here qualifies as cheap eats.
