This little Lower East Side Thai spot provides a reasonably priced meal in a space that you wouldn't be ashamed to take a date to. The look is sleek and minimal: polished wooden walls, chairs, tables and floors are all stained slightly different colors, reflecting the lights inset in the walls and dangling from the light bulbs above. Despite the hip décor, dishes aren't priced much higher than most neighborhood Thai restaurants, with plenty of noodle and curry dishes like pad Thai and Panang curry coming in at under $10. A few of the house specialties include duck topped with tamarind sauce, whole fried red snapper with chili sauce and shrimp and mussels in pineapple red curry. The restaurant doesn't serve any beer or liquor, but don't worry, it's BYOB. Come in between 12pm-4pm for the lunch special, which includes a main dish and soup or salad for around $8.—Keith Wagstaff
