Issey Miyake

It's difficult to summarize Miyake's contributions to fashion, particularly with respect to his innovations on the manufacturing side (for example his APOC collectionaeach item is a piece of cloth cut from a massive bolt and can be configured in a number of intriguing ways). No question, the avant-garde is not for everyone, and many may balk at Miyake's curious pleated and layered offerings, now the handiwork of head designer Naoki Takizawa. It's worth a visit though, just to see what the mad scientists have cooked up now.
