Hand over a buck, and soon you"ll find four pork-leek dumplings in your hot little hands; dumplings that have been freshly scraped out of the enormous wok in which they"ve been sizzling. One side of the wrapper is blistered and crunchy, the other two sides chewy and soft. Bite through the skin and into a juicy, pink ball of pork and leeks--just enough leeks, just enough fatty drippings, and just enough gamey pork flavor. We're not sure you can do better for a dollar. There are many other ultra-cheap offerings at Kai Feng Fu, including a more dumplings, buns, Northern Chinese bread items (such as sesame-beef pancake) and a large array of noodle soups.
