Like insects lured by a flame, we were induced to enter Kebab Garden by the fake flapping fire in the restaurant's sign. Inside we found an imperially long Turkish steam table, with many vegetable-driven selections involving tomatoes, eggplant, and okra, some with flavorful bits of meat mixed in. It was priced reasonably by the pound, making it an excellent choice for cheap, fast chow. The cave-like dining room;featuring more of those fake flames in black smudge pots;is more comfortable and intimate than it needs to be, and for the meat obsessed there are two types of schwarma and two kinds of kebabs. Nice addition to the East Village smorgasbord.
