Formed out of the ruins of the legendary Eastern Feast (one of the first Uzbek restaurants in town), Kebeer is a Russian beer garden with a great list of taps at bargain prices ($4 half-liters, $8 liters), mainly German and Belgian. The food is pan-post-Soviet, with charcoal-grilled kebabs, weird-ass burgers, both pickled and pan-fried fish, and a slew of apps and salads from the Mediterranean, Middle East, Caucusus, and Central Asia. The chicken tabaka ("road kill chicken") is highly recommended, and so are such vegetarian dishes as Russian pickled mushrooms with dill, and hatchapuri, a Georgian cheese-oozing bread. The atmosphere is positively medieval.
