While there has long been a gulf between rotisserie chicken places and full-blown Peruvian restaurants, La Cuarta ("the quarter") bridges it with a menu grounded in spice-rubbed poultry, but with lots of additional Andean delights. Papas ala Huancaina - name checking an Incan mountain town - is a lukewarm dish of sliced potatoes with cheese sauce, bland but authentic, while anticuchos is a platter of marinated and grilled cow hearts sided with a corn cob featuring gigantic white kernels. Then there are seafood stews, fried rices, and noodles called tallarin, the latter two evidence of the Chinese contribution to Peruvian cooking.
