Local 138 proves that you only need one item to open a bar: a physical, wooden bar. Nothing special, really, just a plank of wood that separates the bartender and the crowd, and leaves space for some beers to rest in the middle. This spot's boldest decorations include thick turbine fans, golden bronze paint, and two box TVs; it's neither a dirty rock 'n' roll dive nor a tchotchke-laden sports bar, but it ain't pretty, either. Natives and nomads come here precisely for that reason, refueling during the generous 5-to-9 happy hour before reemerging into the night.
