The Korean take on fried chicken is a bit less greasy than the Southern version, featuring a thinner, crispier skin. Here you can order them spicy or brushed with traces of garlic, onions and soy sauce. Each order comes with some pickled daikon and a small bucket for the inevitable pile of tiny bones. There are a few other items on the menu (parmesan fries, fried calamari, even tacos) but most people come here strictly to scarf down a big plate of wings with some Killian's Irish Red. This is not a place to relax; a soundsystem blasts pop music, beer comes in glowing two-liter tubes and the décor more closely resembles a dance club than a comfort food spot. With its location right in the middle of Koreatown, it is, however, a great place to get geared up for a night of karaoke or wind down from one, as it's open until last call on weekdays and even later than that on weekends.— Keith Wagstaff
