There isn't a lot of room in this tiny East Village pizza place but that doesn't stop people from crowding in, lured by the promise of 99-cent pizza by a sign outside. Cheese slices are indeed under a dollar, but there is a lot more on the menu besides pizza. Burgers, toasted subs, salads, hot wings and more are all on offer. The house specialties are Persian dishes like the spicy chicken kebabs and pitas packed with vegetables and hummus. Feeling really hungry? Try the absurd Italian cheeseburger, which comes topped with cheese and French fries inside of a hero roll. A lot of the clientele consists of poor students, who come to take advantage of the $2.75 special, which includes two slices of cheese pizza and a soda. The space itself is bare bones, consisting of a photo menu on the wall and small counter lined with a couple of seats.—Keith Wagstaff
