This Turkish lunch counter with Uzbek influences makes one amazing sandwich. Deploying a round, thick, seeded flatbread called lapeshka ("home bread" on the menu), the meat wrangler heaps on both lamb and chicken doner kebab (a/k/a gyro), then loads on lettuce, tomato, and purple onions. Finally, he pours on red-hot sauce and white yogurt sauce. Yum! Other formidable offerings include a pilaki salad with tiny tender white beans and green onions in a tart dressing, and adana kebab, a flame-grilled undulating cylinder of coarsely chopped meat laced with onions and chiles.
