Don't let the gringo name chase you away. A blessing to food-challenged Bronxdale, this taquería has some of the juiciest, overflowingest tacos in the city. Make sure you get the double-tortilla soft ones (instead of the hardshell variety) and the waitress will respect you. The cow tongue in the lengua taco is stewed to perfection, liberally dusted with crumbly cheese and cilantro; the barbacoa-braised and pulled goat-taco is even better, with an additional dab of crema. The red chile sauce is hot as hell, while tomatillo sauce is soothingly cool. Colorful hand-painted murals enliven the room, and who could resist the panoramic view of White Plains Road?
