Hand-lettered signs all over the dining room urge you toward the banh cuon nhan thit cha lua, or "Vietnamese steamed rice crepe." We're easily suggestible, and ordered them. A few minutes later, we were huddled over a plate of chewy, slippery rice crepes (like rice noodles, but in sheets) wrapped around a savory mixture of black mushrooms and ground pork. Pour on the fish sauce, and be glad you took the ordering advice. There's also very respectable beefy pho, with the usual brisket, tendon or meatballs. The menu rounds out with noodle bowls (bun) and the thick curries served with French bread-a fusion invention from colonial times.
