Myrtle Avenue subway station

Myrtle Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11221
Best Of
This subway station at the end of Brooklyn's Myrtle Avenue has been abandoned for over 50 years but still stands. The former local stop on the BMT Fourth Avenue Line went out of commission due to track reconstruction in 1956, although the remaining structure continued to be a site for graffiti and street art. It's best known for Bill Brand's Masstransiscope (1980). a working zoetrope art installment. It can still be seen out of the Manhattan-bound B and Q train windows when passing through the adjacent DeKalb Avenue station.
