The NWU puts a lot of stress on aprofessionalism,a which seems counterintuitive. Who are they trying to impress? I mean, isnat the life of a writer inherently non-professional? Benefits? Collective bargaining, improved working conditions? Fine, Iam all in favor of unionizing, and any support to the struggling writer is wonderful, but please, writers union, donat make yourself into a workaday drone machine, as your PR material makes you sound.
