Sometimes all you need as a pizzeria is a great location near plenty of bars and a staff willing to work until 6 am. After all of nearby drinking establishments shut their doors at last call, this East Village pizza place really gets hopping, with tipsy 20-somethings ordering everything from thick Sicilian slices to slices of artichoke pies covered in alfredo sauce and spinach. Lunch is a bit calmer, when neighborhood locals order their cheese slices to-go and walk across the street to eat them in Tompkins Square Park. The restaurant itself isn¹t anything fancy, although it is colorful, sporting lime green walls and a red-and-white checked ceiling. A few round tables and counter seating looking out onto St. Mark¹s Place provide a place to sit for weary partiers at the break of dawn. The rest of the menu consists of hearty Italian sandwiches, calzones and Italian ices.—Keith Wagstaff
