It's hard to imagine a better location than the thriving East Village street corner where this Irish pub sits. During weekdays, people coming off of the F train at 2nd Avenue stop by for post-work drinks, while during the weekends partiers do a little casual pre-drinking before heading off for more raucous bars. Pints of Guinness are the most popular drink, although a variety of Irish and U.K. beers are also on tap. The kitchen produces hearty, standard pub fare, from 8 oz. burgers and Cajun chicken sandwiches to chicken pot pie and bangers and mash. During brunch, dishes like French toast and steak and eggs are available with a complimentary brunch cocktail and coffee or tea. The two-story bar itself has a fairly traditional look to it, with a long bar topped with flickering tea lights, velvet curtains and a painting of a group of Guinness-drinkin', hard-workin' Irishmen.—Keith Wagstaff
