Owners Jim Mamary and Alan Harding moved their casual bistro to Carroll Gardens, where they had been for 11 years, to Nolita in 2009. What changed? Well, perhaps the crowd has a little more money, but the restaurant still has the same traditional look and menu it had in Brooklyn. Framed vintage posters hang above red leather banquettes, with white tile and white tablecloths giving it a simple, sophisticated look. The menu is made up of French bistro staples with Italian accents, including steak frites, risotto with mild mushrooms, duck ravioli with spinach and pine nuts, and a grilled, double-cut pork chop served with roasted shallots. Order a la carte or opt for the prix fixe option, which includes two courses for $19.95. Boozy brunchers will be glad to know that during weekends, the restaurant serves a $12.95 brunch with coffee and unlimited mimosas.—Keith Wagstaff
