Rattle N Hum

14 E. 33rd St.
New York, NY 10016
Serious Beer Drinking can sometimes be an ostracizing affair, with strange new words such as "IPA," "hops," "witte," and "hefeweizen" lacking the party-starting populist simplicity of simply shouting, "Toss me a brewski, bro." Though Rattle N Hum uses these snooty-sounding terms as frequently as any other beer bar, its giddy crowd prioritizes friendliness over connoisseurship. Still, they love a good brew: forty varieties of craft beer on tap, with another 100 in bottles. Just as framed jerseys line the walls at a sports pub, plus-sized microbrewery logos pop out from the black-and-brown interior here; as for the vast, Technicolor array of used taps protruding from the ceiling, well, that's the trophy collection.
