The meal at this new and sparely decorated Belgian café couldn't live up to the positive buzz people have been spreading. Is there such as thing as Belgian food, anyway? One appetizer is a Midwest-style deviled egg mounted on a brown fish cake. Not bad--but not really Belgian. The fries, too, were clearly not Belgian--too thick and not twice cooked. The steamed mussels were dull, even though it was the best sounding version--leek and bacon. On the positive side: you will love the lamb ribs and yogurt, but it didn't seem very Belgian. At the very least, Resto is worth visiting for the wonderful Belgian beer list. Open till 1 a.m.
