This newfangled pizza parlor, run by Italians from Emilia-Romagna, came as a surprise in Stuyvesant Heights, but the neighborhood has clasped the restaurant to its bosom (the owners live just down the block). The premises are labyrinthine, and feel like South Carolina circa 1950, and there's a fine garden out back. The pizzas tend to be excellent, and often come with buffalo mozzarella. Our faves are the elemental margherita, and--with a tip of the hat to Brooklynites from Apulia--the cappocolo, made with a streaky neck-meat ham. Reflecting the roots of the owners, a charcuterie platter makes an excellent starter, and there are all sorts of other desirable apps, including swordfish carpaccio, and even a pasta or two if you want to avoid the pies.
